COLOMBO — Young journalist, Mubeena Barry launched her maiden book titled ” A Book That You Will Never Read “, at a fully packed audience at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute (Lighthouse Auditorium and Lawns) in Colombo on Sunday June 7.
The welcome address was delivered by her brother Zacky Barry.
The Chief Guest, High Commissioner of Malaysia Badli Hisham Adam, received the first copy of the book from the author, while the Guest of Honour, renowned author Anthea Senaratna, received the second copy.
Speaking at the event, Badli Hisham Adam recalled a that he had written a book while serving as Ambassador to Kazakhstan. He congratulated Mubeena Barry on her successful publication and expressed hope that she would author many more books in the future. He also emphasized the importance of parental blessings and shared how deeply he respects his own parents.
Mubeena Barry thanked her brothers, friends, teachers, and parents for their support and guidance throughout her journey and for helping make the publication of the book possible.
Reviews of the book were presented by psychology educator Jenoosh Lawrence and Dr. Avanti Jayasinghe, who addressed the gathering.
The event was attended by members of their literary community, media personnel, friends, and family members if the author.
The programme was compered by Murthaaz Barry, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Nabeel Barry.
The author is the third daughter if Marshard and Zainab Barry in Colombo
