COLOMBO: In the capital Colombo on Wednesday,April 13, vehicles can be seen waiting in long queues for petrol and diesel from early morning.
Three-wheeler drivers in particular complained that waiting for fuel in long queues for long hours made them lose their one-day collection, They also expressed concern that they would suffer on the day of the New Year.
It was also observed that some petrol stations were closed due to lack of fuel.The 24/7 Gas station at Cinammon Gardens closed shop around 12 midnight due to short of stocks.The other shed opposite the Dewatagaha Mosque had long queues stretching to Ward Place.
Some of the cab services in Colombo did not have vehicles to rent since most of the vehicles were immobilized due to want of fuel.
