COLOMBO : The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) requested the public not to reply to the messages received from unknown contacts.
They said the people would receive WhatsApp messages noting that they have been sent with a 6-digit code by mistake.
Please keep in mind not to reply to those messages under any circumstances.
“If the message came from a known contact, ensure to inform that their account may be compromised,” they said.
Therefore, it is very safe to enable two-factor authentication for the security of the WhatsApp account, the TRCSL said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama-Mirror)
