COLOMBO: Environment Minister Hafiz Naseer Ahmed has urged all ethnic parties including his own Sri Lanka Muslim Congress,SLMC, to join President Ranil Wickremesinghe in forming an All-Party government which is the need of the hour to resolve the current problems.
Ahamed who is the deputy leader of the SLMC was reacting to the support expressed by R.Sampanthan, leader of the Tamil National Alliance to support the present government,
Welcoming the offer made by the Tamil National Alliance to support the formation of an all-party government which has opened the doors to achieving the political aspirations of the Tamil people.
“ I want all other Muslim parties also to follow suit to the get the best benefit for the Muslim community from the new government,” Ahamed added.
“ An all-party government must be formed to resolve the economic crisis in the country. Responsible political parties cannot deviate from this requirement. Thus, the president’s haste to form an all-party government is to save the people from the economic crisis,” he added.
He requested all Muslim parties to make use of this opportunity by joining hands with President Wickremesinghe to form a formidable and strong government which could take the country to new heights.
