DOHA : Visiting Sri Lankan Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa is keen on finding more employment opportunities for his countrymen in the state of Qatar.
Rajapaksa arrived here on Thursday early morning,met labour minister of Qatar, Dr.Ali bin Saeed bin Smaikh Al Marri and discussed varous matters related to employment and welfare of Sri Lankan labour in the state.
The Lankan minister said : “ The discussion focused on how we cud create more opportunities for Lankan skilled labour and strengthen bilateral ties,” Rajapaksa stressed, adding that Qatar is one of the countries with a large population of Sri Lankan migrant workers most of whom have spent many years working here.
On Thursday, Rajapaksa also met with Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani & discussed opportunities to work together to share expertise & knowledge to promote the sport as well as sporting infrastructure.
