On this remarkable occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the National Day of the United Arab Emirates, I have great pleasure in extending to Your Highness, the Government, and the people of the United Arab Emirates, my warmest felicitations and sincere best wishes and those of the Government and the People of Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates enjoy longstanding friendly relations based on mutual respect, cultural synergies, and trade relations, for more than thousands of years. These relations are reinforced through our cooperation on issues of mutual interest in the multilateral sphere. It is my resolute belief that, under your able and benevolent leadership that these close and cordial ties would continuously grow stronger and deeper in the years ahead.
