COLOMBO : As we joyously celebrate Eid ul-Fitr, I extend my warmest greetings to all citizens. This blessed occasion marks the conclusion of Ramadan, a month of fasting, reflection, and spiritual growth, reminding us of the values of gratitude, compassion, and unity.
Eid ul-Fitr is not only a time of celebration but also an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to
national unity and harmony. Regardless of our backgrounds or beliefs, let us come together as one
community, embracing the spirit of empathy and understanding that Ramadan instills in us.
This year, I am heartened by the peaceful observance of Ramadan across our nation. It is a testament to
our collective resilience and the strength of our diversity. Despite the challenges we face, our
commitment to peace and goodwill shines through.
As we bid farewell to Ramadan, let us carry forward its spirit of generosity and kindness into our daily
lives. Let us reach out to our neighbors, extend a hand of friendship, and strive to build a more inclusive
and harmonious society.
On this joyous occasion, I also urge everyone to remember those facing oppression and hardship across
the world. The people of Palestine remain in our duas, and we stand in solidarity with them in their
struggle for justice and peace. I encourage everyone to offer prayers for their well-being and for an end
to their suffering.
May this Eid be a source of happiness, peace, and prosperity for all. Let our celebrations reflect the
values we hold dear – unity, compassion, and justice.
Eid Mubarak!
