COLOMBO — The Community Development Society (CDS) in collaboration with All Ceylon YMMA Conference had organized Media Sensitization on Migrant Workers Health Rights workshop for media personnel’s was held at Mandarina Hotel, Colombo on Wednesday December 13.
Lecturers from National STD and AIDS Control Program NSACP Director Dr. Janaki Vidanapathirna, Colombo Plus President S.P.I. Niroshan, CDS Januka Tillakarathne, CDS Executive Director Andrew Samuel, N.M Arshad Secretary ALFEA and Dr. Kanthi Abeyrathna, Executive Secretary CCM Secretariat and N. M. Nifraz Coordinator YMMA addressed the gathering about HIV/AIDS disease in Sri Lanka and Abroad. Also explained HIV effective male and female of migrant workers and how they secure from HIV.
The officials of the GAMCA brief about how HIV disease patients visit abroad for employment.
The lecturers hoped the government and health sector would support and protection the people from HIV.
Large number of print and electronic media personnel’s were present at the workshop.
