JAFFNA And BATTICALOA
Two mass protests were held in Jaffna and Batticaloa in the morning on Friday, October 9
calling the government to withdraw the the proposed “Protection of the State from Terrorism Act” (PSTA) Bill .
The events were organised by the North-East Coordinating Committee (NECC) in front of the Jaffna Governor’s Secretariat in the Northern Province and at Gandhi Park in Batticaloa in the Eastern Province.
During the events, a memorandum urging the government not to pass the proposed Bill was read out
