COLOMBO : A suspect has been arrested within the Pettah Police Division in connection with causing damage to property at the recently renovated and reopened Pettah Central Bus Stand.
The investigation was launched by the Pettah Police following a complaint made by the welfare division of the bus stand.
Accordingly, on April 11, 2026, investigating officers arrested a suspect in the Kolonnawa area along with a portion of the stolen property linked to the incident.
The suspect is a 33-year-old resident of Kolonnawa.
The Sri Lanka Air Force is expected to provide an assessment report on the damages caused. The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.
