MALE : West Maafannu constituency MP Mohamed Falah has called to physically attack and ban “India Out” movement and has alluded physical violence against the former President Abdulla Yameen in response to his backing for the “India Out” movement.
This comes after Speaker of the Parliament former President Mohamed Nasheed called to prohibit the “India Out” movement at the same gathering.
Speaking at a small gathering held the for the ruling MDP MPs representing the capital city, MP Mohamed Falah stated that the “person near at the waterfront” with “ India Out” printed on his chest was “Uncivilized”. This is in reference to former President Abdulla Yameen whose residence and the opposition party office is in the Eastern waterfront.
MP Mohamed Falah then stated that “If he keeps doing that, we will have to hit him on his ears (face), there no way else to stop this. This is something we have to do now”.
He also called for the ruling party MDP and Government of Maldives to pass a law to ban the “India Out” movement. “I also request the largest political party, MDP’s national congress to pass a resolution to prohibit the calls for “India Out” and for the Government to take action against those calling for “India Out”.” Said MP Falah at the gathering held in Sultan Park.(MnM)
