MALE : Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI), donated $ 62,000 to the Sri Lanka Rebuilding Fond on Thursday, December 11
The donation was handed to the Sri Lankan high commissioner in Male Rizvie Hassan at hismission premises on Thursday.
In a statement released on the occasion by the MATI state : ” I On behalf of all members of the Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI), we extend our deepest solidarity to the people of Sri Lanka during this time of great hardship.
In the wake of the recent natural disaster, our members came together in unity and compassion to support those affected. Though our contribution is modest, it is given with sincere hearts and with profound respect for the resilience, strength, and spirit of the Sri Lankan people.
This donation is presented to the High Commission of Sri Lana in the Maldives as a symbol of friendship between our communities, and as a reminder that in moments of adversity, we stand together.
May this gesture bring comfort and hope, and may the people of Sri Lanka find swift recovery and renewalWith heartfelt solidarity, All Members of MATI Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI).”
” Vice Chairman of Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) . Salah Shihab and its membership donated $ 62,500 to assist the GOSL efforts to assist people in distress aftermath of cyclone Ditwah. The cheque was donated Thursday ,December (11/12) to the High Commissioner at the Chancery premises. I thanked MATI for its contribution at this hour of need , ” the high commissioner told Colombo Times on Thursday night.
