COLOMBO- Malaysia has offered office space to Sri Lanka to set up a Sri Lankan Cultural and Tourist Promotion Center in Malacca.
Environment Minister Hafiz Naseer Ahamed who returned to the island on Monday after attending a Climate Conference in Kuala Lumpur told Colombo Times on Wednesday,Sept.21 that the Malaysian officials were much interested in hosting such a center in Malacca to promote Sri Lankan interests,
The minister accompanied by Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Malaysia, Air Chief Marshal Sumangala Dias had a cordial and fruitful meeting with the Malacca Governor,Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Seri Dr Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam.
The minister said that Malacca has attracted 18 million tourists to the state in 2019 and this is a good opportunity for Sri Lanka to showcase its products and services to international tourists for visits and investments.
