Through this initiative, SLITHM and the Department of Samudri Development reaffirm their commitment to advancing Sri Lanka’s tourism industry, while also creating sustainable employment opportunities and empowering the nation’s youth.
This pioneering initiative is built on a strong Public–Private Partnership (PPP) model, bringing together the expertise of government institutions, private training providers, and industry stakeholders. The program is specially designed to develop the essential skills of the younger generation, preparing them as multi-skilled professionals to serve the fast-growing SME establishments in Sri Lanka’s tourism and hospitality sector.
Currently, 35 franchise institutes covering all districts have joined hands with SLITHM under this program, ensuring wide access to training opportunities for youth across the country.

NVQ Level 3 Certification – nationally recognized qualification upon successful completion.
On-the-job training opportunities – direct exposure to industry practices.
Nationwide promotion campaign – to encourage youth participation and awareness.
