COLOMBO : The Supreme Council of Sufi Thareeqas of Sri Lanka has strongly condemned the undue, inhuman and unprovoked attack by the Israeli government and their armed forces on the people who visited Masjid Al-Aqsa for prayers on the last Friday in the Holy month of Ramadan.
President of the Supreme Council of Sufi Thareeqas, Seyyed Nakeeb Mowlana told Colombo Times : “This is a blatant act of aggression against peaceful innocent citizens and our hearts go to the victims and their families.
Palestine is an independent state. It is a fact that Israel has taken over the Palestinian territory illegally and unjustly, claiming to escape from the Nazi atrocities carried out by Germany, and since then Israel has been repeatedly causing cruelties against the Palestinian people similar to that carried out by Nazis. We therefore urge to reconsider this path, which is clearly unlawful and will most likely have adverse consequences.”
The council also called for the intervention of the world nations is very essential to stop atrocities committed by Israel. Further, he said : “ We appeal to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to call upon all the heads of states of Muslim countries to use their influences to stop Israel from its unjust and illegal aggression causing inhuman calamities.”
