COLOMBO Eighteen-year-old Sri Lankan student, Haifa Mohamed Shiraz of Kandy studying at ISB (The Indian School) in Bahrain has stolen the limelight in the recently held CBSE Class X11 examination in Bahrain. She along with Mariam Thomas have achieved the rare feat of being the toppers of this highly competitive examination that opens the gateway for the university education. Both have equally shared the honours of obtaining the incredible 99% with 495 marks out of 500. This was the highest ever scored in the school. There were 789 candidates from ISB that appeared for crucial exam and of whom 21 students have come off with flying colours with A1 in all subjects. Haifa is the daughter of Mohammed Shiraz and Fathima Fazliha of 73, Katugastota Road Kandy who have been stationed in Bahrain for over 27 years.
