DOHA : His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, received a telephone call today from His Excellency President Anura Kumara Dissanayake of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
At the beginning of the call, His Excellency the President inquired about the situation in the State of Qatar, expressing his country’s solidarity and support in light of the ongoing Iranian aggression against Qatar and other countries in the region.
For his part, His Highness the Emir reassured His Excellency the President about the well-being of the Sri Lankan community in Qatar, emphasizing the State’s care and concern for all those residing within its borders.
The call also addressed the challenges facing the region, particularly in light of the military escalation and its direct repercussions on the energy sector and supply chains. His Excellency the President stressed the importance of addressing these challenges through international coordination and cooperation.
His Highness the Emir affirmed the State of Qatar’s unwavering commitment to its role as a reliable energy partner and its dedication to ensuring the continuity and availability of energy supplies, despite the exceptional circumstances and current challenges.
During the call, both sides stressed the importance of intensifying international and regional efforts to immediately halt the escalation, contain tensions, and consolidate security and stability in the region through diplomatic solutions. Qatar News
