COLOMBO: Sri Lanka’s Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal to declare Friday a holiday for the Public Sector.
However, the four-day work week will not apply to Essential Services including Electricity Supply, Water Supply, Education, and Security.
Meanwhile, Justice Minister Wijedasa Rajapaksa said in a TV program on Monday night that at least it will take six weeks for the government to present the 21st Amendment to the parliament.
The minister was responding to a question from the ‘Face the Nation’ moderator Shameer Rasooldeen on Monday. Rajapaksa said that it will go again before the party leaders on Thursday June 16.
