COLOMBO – Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) Registered Restaurants, Hotels establishments to operate restaurants, eating houses and bar at twenty-five percentage (25%) of total capacity from Monday, July 5, according to a proposal made by Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga.
According to Minister Ranatunga, the arrangement is being made on an instruction from Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to rebuild confidence in the global traveler that Sri Lanka is a safe destination.
In a letter to Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi, Minister of Tourism, Prasanna Ranatunga has proposed a set of new health guidelines to the tourist industry for immediate implementation.
Minister Ranatunga has pointed out that the new health guidelines have been chalked out on the instructions of the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and the subsequent conversation with the health minister.
According to the new guidelines, the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) Registered Restaurants, Hotels establishments to be permitted with effect from July 5, to open and operate restaurants, eating houses and bar at twenty-five percentage (25%) of total capacity.
The Covid vaccination of tourism industry to commence with effect from July 15 through the District MOHs. A valid letter form a SLTDA registered Tourism establishment and/or National Identity card to be used for identification.
District by district vaccinations to include all persons involved in tourism, including hotel staff, Jeep drivers in National Parks under Department of Wildlife Conservation and Safari Parks and Zoological gardens under the Department of Zoological Gardens, staff in tourist sites including Botanical Gardens and cultural sites, tours guides, Tourist drivers, SLTDA registered shops opens to tourists, water sport centres and whale-watching .
