NEW DELHI: Thousands of people in Lakshadweep on Monday observed 12-hour hunger strike against anti-people policies brought by Praful Patel-led administration.
Protestors including women and children held placards outside their homes demanding the alleged draconian laws to be revoked. The “Save Lakshadweep Forum” (SLF) is in forefront of the protest.
“All political parties and organisations are united in their demand that the policies of the Administrator are anti-people and against the actual requirements of the people,” the SLF said.
According to the new rule, persons having more than two children are disqualified from contesting the election. Beef has also been banned in the region where 100% population is non-vegetarian .Moreover liquor is now allowed.(Muslim Mirror)
