COLOMBO : The foundation for a two-storied classroom building was laid by the Sri Lanka Hima Islamic Services Company under Kuwait’s aid program for Padukka Galagedera Muslim School Saturday,on 29 June .
As the representative of the Kuwaiti Ambassador, Asheik M. Firdaus (Nalimi), the official of the Kuwaiti Embassy in Colombo and Colombo District Member of Parliament Mujibur Rahman attended the event as the chief guest. As well as Director of Sri Lanka Hima Islamic Services Company Ashshei
k MAA Nurullah (Nalimi) and President of this company Aminullah, Deputy Secretary of Padukka School Association MSM. Chawban, Komagama Divisional Education Officer, Padukka Divisional Secretary, Police Station Officer of Badukka Division, Principal of Tihariya Al Asghar School A.J.M. Burkhan, school teachers, parents, students and village dignitaries also participated.
Addressing ,Ashsheik Firdouse Nalimi – she Kuwaiti government has been providing massive aid to Sri Lanka. Faculty of Medicine for the University of Moratuwa and South East University, Kuwait Housing Projects, Kuwait Medical Centers and more than 40 underprivileged schools are helping the country’s living education community by constructing such buildings with 1-storey or 2-storey classrooms.
As the power of our country’s economy, our nationals go to Kuwait and do business there and send foreign currency to our country. More than one lakh Sri Lankans are working in Kuwait.
