COLOMBO : The KPMG Sri Lanka Academy presents the 20th virtual session of the “Friday Mid-Afternoon Chat” series. This week’s webinar will be on “Valuing Start-Up Companies” conducted by Ajantha Weerasekara – Principal, Advisory at KPMG in Sri Lanka.
Start-up founders, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and state-owned agencies encouraging young businesses are forging the world of tomorrow through innovative products, services and solutions. Their efforts advance our quality of life and make the world a better place. In this FMAC session under our Valuations series, we will be covering the following key areas to better understand the start-up ecosystem and to address the typical questions that arise when valuing start-up companies:
- Introduction to start-ups and their typical features
- Start-up eco system
- The start-up life cycle
- Key principles of valuation of start-ups
- Key valuation methodologies available for start-up valuations
An understanding of the above topics would facilitate more transparent discussions between founders and investors regarding value and price of early-stage companies, allowing for a better allocation of risks and returns.
The session is scheduled for the 25th of June (Friday) from 3.00 PM onwards.
