COLOMBO: A Korean company has come forward in Sri Lanka to distribute $200,000 worth dry rations among the recent flood victims and others who were affected by the travel restrictions due to the Covid pandemic.
At a formal ceremony, Secretary to the Urban Development Authority. Sirinimal Perera received the first portion of the donation from the Chief Executive Officer of the Korean-based Ssenypang, Kim Byung Jun at his office in Suhurupaya in Subuthipura on Friday,June 18.
Speaking on the occasion, Perera thanked the Ssneypang company for the magnanimous donation in kind to be distributed among the poorest among the poor. Perera received some 750 packs of dry rations worth Rs 7,000 each for distribution among the deserving people in Colombo, He said the packs will be distributed among the poor people irrespective of religions.
