COLOMBO : Minister of Justice Ali Sabry celebrates his 51st birthday on Saturday, May 1.
Being a leading lawyer in the bar, President’s Counsel, Mohammed Uwais Mohamed Ali Sabry entered parliament last year as a nominated MP through the ruling SLPP.
At 26, Sabry was appointed Consul General at the Sri Lankan Consulate General Office in Jeddah, where he was instrumental to initiating numerous welfare activities for Sri Lankan in the western part of Saudi Arabia. Sabry founded the Sri Lankan International School in Jeddah and he also established the Sri Lankan Expatriates’ Society in the western part of Jeddah in line with the society in Riyadh.
At 41, he was appointed President’s Counsel in Sri Lanka and became the minister at 50.
