Viet Nam: Joheirry Mola of the Dominican Republic has been crowned the 73rd Miss World, bringing an extraordinary celebration of Miss World’s 75th anniversary to a memorable conclusion in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
The 24-year-old educator, journalist and community advocate received the crown from Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri, the 72nd Miss World, during a spectacular seaside final held on September 5 at 2 April Square.
Elisabeth Reynés of Spain was named first runner-up, while Taanusiya Chetty of Malaysia completed the final podium as second runner-up.
Joheirry’s victory marks the second Miss World crown for the Dominican Republic, 44 years after Mariasela Álvarez became the first Dominican woman to win the title in 1982.
The final took place on one of the largest stages ever created for Miss World. Built beside the sea in the heart of Nha Trang, the open-air structure extended for more than 110 meters across the city’s iconic 2 April Square and combined advanced LED screens, lighting, sound and laser technology.
Thousands of spectators gathered along the square and surrounding areas, with the illuminated coastline providing a remarkable backdrop for the international broadcast.
