SHARJAH – Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are on the driving seat to be the 4th team to enter the play offs with a massive 86 runs win over Rajasthan Royals (RR). In an endeavor to win with a huge margin, KKR managed to restrict the RR to a mere 85 runs.
KKR batting first set a target of 171 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Shubman Gill contributed with a half century. RR only managed 85 runs and was scattered all out in 16.1 overs. Rahul Tewatia of RR scored 44 runs and Shivam Dube contributed 18 runs. Rest of the batting line up failed to get double digit scores.
Mumbai Indians (MI) who are the only team who can manage a roadblock to upset KKR’s dream has to win by a margin of 170 runs against Sun Risers Hyderabad in the match tomorrow.
Shivam Mavi of KKR grabbed 4 wickets for 21 runs was named the man of the match for his superb bowling effort which halted RR for a low score. L Ferguson also bowled well for his haul of 3 for 18 runs.
Last 2 group matches are held on 8th of October Friday between MI Vs SRH and RCB Vs DC.
The first qualifier will be held on 10th of October (Sunday) in Dubai. (RZ)
