COLOMBO : Interviews are being held from Saturday September 20 to select suitable Hajj operators for the pilgrimage in 2026, the. department. of Muslim Religious and. Cultural Affairs told Colombo Times
on Friday, September 19.
The director of the department of Muslim Religious affairs M S M Nawae said the interviews are conducted by a board appointed by his. department and the interviews are being held among the applicants who have applied for the upcoming Hajj next year .
Nawas said. that the board will make its recommendations based on the respective applicants’ capabilities, financial strength and past performances. The department will announce the selected applicants in consultations with the Hajj Committee headed by Riyaz Mihular.
Last year,he said there were 92 Hajj operators to handle 3,500 Sri Lankan pilgrims
