COLOMBO : The Department of Muslim Religious & Cultural Affairs and the Hajj Committee have requested all registered Hajj pilgrims to open a Hajj Account with Amana Bank with a deposit Rs. 750,000 on or before 10th November 2025.
Speaking to Colombo Times , Hajj Committee Chairman Reyaz Mihular said so far, 4,400 pilgrims have registered, 3,600 have been confirmed with the Department, and 1,425 have already opened accounts with the Amana Bank.
In a statement released to the press , Mihular said that that only the first 3,500 account holders will be considered for Hajj 2026, on a first-come-first-served basis regardless of registration number
The Amana Bank Hajj Account has been opened and the required deposit has to be made by 10th November to reserve a place. A total of 93 Hajj operators have been appointed to serve the 3,500 pilgrims set to perform Hajj next year.
