COLOMBO — India Kochi Rajagiri College of Social Sciences and University of Sri Jayewardenepura signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at Hilton Residencies Colombo on Monday April 6.
It was held under the directorship of Country Director Zaheer Marzook.
University Grant Commission Chairman Senior Professor Sampath Amarathunga, Principal of the Rajagiri College Fr. Dr. Saju MD, Indian Foreign Service Venu Rajamony, Associate Director of Rajagiri College Dr. Binoy Joseph and Dean HR Rajagiri College Dr. Manoj Mathew addressed the gathering.
Vice Chancellor of University of Sri Jayawardenepura Senior Professor Pathmalal M. Manage and Principal of Rajagiri College Fr. Dr. Saju MD signed the MOU at this ceremony.
Rajagiri College of Social Sciences was established in 1955 as one of the pioneers in professional social work education in South India, by Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI). Now Rajagiri with all its educational, research, governmental and non governmental institutions have spread into two campuses – Rajagiri Hill Campus and Valley Campus in Cochin. Rajagiri Business School is an AACSB and EFMD accredited International Business School that stands for its vision to bring out management leaders with a unique signature of social sensitivity. The University of Sri Jayewardenepura formerly known as Vidyodaya Pirivena was the essence of the revival of Sri Lankan Education. It is the second oldest University in Sri Lanka and the first University established in Independent Ceylon. Rajagiri has signed an agreement of academic cooperation with the University to facilitate all possible combined international activities viz. Student and faculty exchanges, combined programmes, combined conferences, trainings, workshops and seminars and combined researches and publications.

M. Razmy, South Eastern University Professor of Department of Marketing Prof. M.I.M. Hilal and Principles of the respected Schools Trizviiy Marikkar ( Zahira College), Mohamed Risky ( Hameed Al Husseinie College), Mrs. F. Zaroona ( Al Hidaya College ) , Mrs. A.L. S. Nazeera Hassanar ( Khairiya Girls College ) and Vice Principal Farhana Amirdeen were graced on occasion followed by dinner hosted by Rajagiri College. Country Director Zaheer Marzook thanked all for gracing the ceremony and being with us with all their busy schedules.
