Ifthar parties called off in line with government’s health guidelines

COLOMBO: Following the government’s call for the cancellation of public and private parties due to the rising incidence of Covid virus, three major Ifthar parties in the capital were cancelled during the week.

Indian ambassador Gopal Baglay was to hold the ifthar at the Taj Samudra Hotel on Wednesday,April 28 ,while the Tower Hall Foundation director and poet, Hassim Omar had invited his guests to ifthar at Shangri La Hotel on Sunday April 25.

Arab News Sri Lanka Correspondent Mohammed Rasooldeen, has also regretfully called off the party fixed at the Hotel Mandarina for Friday, April 30. The parties were limited to invitees only.
