COLOMBO — Highlighting the importance of unity among Sri Lankan Muslims, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Dr Rizvi Salih said that unity among the Sri Lankan Muslims is important for their forward march. “ You will have a better bargaining power provided u have one voice,” Salih told the Muslims gathered at an iftar ceremony organized by the Department of. Muslim Religious and Cultural in Colombo.
The Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs hosted an Iftar Ceremony at the Department premises on Wednesday March 26. Which we held under the patronage of the Director of the Department M.S.M. Nawas.
Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Rizvi Salih, Governor of the Western Province Hanif Yosuf and Deputy Minister of National Integration Muneer Mulaffer were present at the ceremony.
Ash Sheik Inhami addressed the gathering on the significance of Ramadan.
Secretary to the Ministry of Science and Technology Y.L. Mohamed Navavi, Hajj Committee Chairman Riyas Mihilar, Colombo Times Editor in Chief and Arab News chief correspondent Mohammad Rasooldeen, Former Director of the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Ansar Ibrahim, Department Senior Officials, Representatives of Muslim Organization were present.
