

Protect President and Prime Minister – Human Rights Commission directs Police

COLOMBO: The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) yesterday issued directives to the police to provide adequate protection for the President and the Prime Minister.
The Commission in a statement issued under the hands of its chairperson Justice Rohini Marasinghe said the Commission has issued directives to the police to provide adequate protection to the President and the Prime Minister while protecting the freedom of speech and assembly through necessary and proportionate measures.
