COLOMBO : Hameed Al Husseini Central College, Colombo has introduced a chain of sports such as boxing, carrom and chess to improve develop sports skills among students of the college.
It was sponsored by the College’s 82 Alumni Association and the organization aimed at ‘Light for Life’.

A mini boxing ring was set up at a cost of Rs 2 million under the auspices of 82 alumni group and Light For Life’/
College Principal A. T, Adnan and the directors of Light For Life, Z. A. M. Zainuddin, Fasil Buhari and Imtiaz Buhary were also present.
An exhibition boxing match was held after the opening of the boxing ring. The demonstration match was led by Old boy of the college M S M Imtiaz who was a former boxing champion. As a boxing coach he won the Outstanding School Boxer Awards in the junior and senior categories in the late 1970s.
