On the blissful occasion of Eid al-Adha, I would like to extend our sincere greetings and heartfelt wishes to all Muslims in Sri Lanka. May this auspicious occasion bring you immense joy, blessings, and prosperity.
Eid al-Adha signifies the unwavering devotion and sacrifice, which also reminds us of the values of compassion, empathy, and selflessness. It is a time of deep reflection and let us commemorate the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah’s command.
Let us come together to strengthen the bonds of friendship and foster greater understanding whereby Malaysia and Sri Lanka share a lot of things including foods as well as rich cultural heritage.
Let us also remember to treasure the ties of friendship and family amongst this joy. The fundamental spirit of Eid al-Adha is to aid people in need, and now is the perfect opportunity to do so.
With the spirit of MADANI, may our celebrations become more than just celebrations and become a symbol of our common aspirations for peace, understanding and cross-border cooperation.
Let the feeling of compassion as expressed in the Malaysian MADANI concept, become an important part in the society where we sympathize and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others.
May everyone, especially our Muslim brothers and sisters in Sri Lanka and the rest of the world, experience the happiness and joy during this Hajj celebration.
Happy Eid al-Adha and Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Adha.
