COLOMBO : The Mission recently organized the visit of high-ranking Buddhist monks from Sri Lanka to Pakistan. The delegation was taken along the proposed Gandhara Buddhist Holy Trail starting from Lahore Museum and all the way up to the Swat Valley. The visit was very successful and with the joint efforts of the Mission and the Ministry. The visit created an enormous goodwill for Pakistan in the majority Sinhala Buddhist community of Sri Lanka.
The Mission has also made a state of the art documentary on the glorious Buddhist Heritage of Pakistan for promoting tourism between the two countries. This initiative of the Mission will further nurture the prospects of religious tourism from Sri Lanka to Pakistan.
