COLOMBO – The GeNext Youth Club successfully celebrated its 5th Anniversary alongside its Annual Iftar Program on March 17, 2026, at Sausha Banquet Hall, Colombo, with the participation of a large and distinguished gathering.
The event was organized GeNext youth club under the guidance of the Colombo Federation Youth Club and in affiliation with the National Youth Services Council. It brought together government officials, advisory board members, community leaders and youth club members highlighting the unity and strength of youth engagement in community service.
The club, led by its President Abdul Rahman Azeem, took the opportunity to recognize individuals who have continuously supported its journey over the past five years. The tokens of appreciation were presented in acknowledgment of their valuable contributions.
A special recognition award was presented to Krishanthi Withanage the Senior ast secretary of President for her distinguished service.
Members of the advisory board were also honored, including Ash-Sheikh Shiyam Mawlavi, Chairman of the Maligawatta Masjid Federation; Minura Rasantha, Superintendent of Police and Officer-in-Charge of Colombo Central 02; A.H.M. Iqbal, Secretary of Maligawatta Grand Jumma Masjid; and Rashmi Rafeek, Advisory Member.
Special appreciation was extended to the team led by Anuruddha Sandaruwan, Divisional Secretary of Colombo, along with Assistant Divisional Secretary Suranjith Sameera, in recognition of their dedicated service during flood relief operations. Youth service officers were also honored for their contributions.
Further awards were presented to several distinguished individuals who supported the club’s initiatives, including former Officer-in-Charge of Maligawatta Police, Assistant Superintendent of Police Bhathiya Jayasinghe; Major General Thilak Ubhayawardena; and Counselor/Lecturer Nalin Amarasinghe. A number of other contributors were also recognized during the ceremony.
During the event, appreciation letters were presented by the Assistant Director of Urban Youth Services to youth members who had completed five years of dedicated service and actively contributed during emergency and disaster situations.
To commemorate the milestone, tree saplings were distributed among the invited guests, symbolizing growth and sustainability.
Commitment to Community Service
Established in 2021 and registered under the National Youth Services Council, the GeNext Youth Club operates under the Colombo divisional Federation with a mission to empower youth through social, educational and humanitarian initiatives.
Over the years, the club has successfully implemented several impactful programs, including annual free educational seminars for G.C.E. Ordinary Level students, Fuel QR assistance initiatives during the national fuel crisis, and the distribution of over 1,000 king coconuts to the Maharagama Cancer Hospital.
Additional initiatives include Ramadan Iftar and date distribution programs, medical camps, sports and youth development activities, and large scale flood relief efforts.
Through these ongoing projects, the GeNext Youth Club continues to play a significant role in community development and remains committed to serving society in the years ahead.

අවසානයේදී, 5 වන සංවත්සරය සංකේතවත් කරමින් පැමිණි ආරාධිතයන් වෙත ගස් පැල බෙදා දීමද සිදු කෙරිණි.

2021 වර්ෂයේ ආරම්භ කර ජාතික තරුණ සේවා සභාව යටතේ ලියාපදිංචි වූ ජෙනෙක්ස්ට් යෞවන සමාජය, කොළඹ ප්රාදේශීය සම්මේලනය මූලස්ථානය කරගෙන සමාජ සේවා, අධ්යාපන හා මානවීය වැඩසටහන් මඟින් තරුණයන් ශක්තිමත් කිරීමේ අරමුණින් ක්රියාත්මක වේ.
මෙම සමාජය විසින් ක්රියාත්මක කර ඇති විශේෂ වැඩසටහන් අතර,
- G.C.E. O/L විභාගයට සූදානම් වන සිසුන් සඳහා වාර්ෂික නොමිලේ අධ්යාපන සම්මන්ත්රණ
- ඉන්ධන අර්බුද සමයේ Fuel QR සහාය වැඩසටහන්
- මහරගම පිළිකා රෝහලට තැබිලී 1000කට අධික ප්රමාණයක් බෙදාහැරීම
- රමසාන් සමයේ ඉෆ්තාර් සහ ඉඳි බෙදාහැරීම
- වෛද්ය කඳවුරු, ක්රීඩා හා තරුණ ක්රියාකාරකම්
- ගංවතුර සහන වැඩසටහන්
