COLOMBO : Gampola Zahira College Union (Colombo) held its 20th Annual General Meeting on Sunday, 5th of January, at Hotel Sofia in Colombo 03.
The meeting was well attended by past pupils of both genders of Gampola Zahira College from various walks of life domiciled in Colombo and its suburbs.
The main feature of the gathering was the presence of some of the stalwarts of the business communities in the Island, Norfolk Crescent, Ali Brothers, Asian Hardware and Traveler Global . Past presidents, secretaries and treasurers, including founding treasurer Hyder Ali, of the Union who graced this occasion.
The main item on the agenda was the election of office bearers for the ensuing year, 2025.
While congratulating the new team of President Mohamed Inshaf, Secretary Farhana Naushad and Treasurer Risvi Majeed, greetings were among them on their long journey ahead.
A word of gratitude was also extended to the outgoing President Ameer Ahmed, Secretary M.R. Hameed and Treasurer Feroze Abdeen for a job well done.
The Past Presidents of the Union Roomy Raheem, Mufthi Hashim and Hilru Siddeek also participated in the grand event.
The meeting concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem followed by Lunch.
