COLOMBO — Gampaha District United Muslim Association launched its profile at an ifthar ceremony held at the Grand Zenith Banquet Hall, Maligawatta , Colombo on Sunday March 23. It was held under the patronage of President of the Association M.R.Mohideen.
The Zeenath Trading Company Private Limited Chairman A.H.M. Maheer presented the first copy of the profile to the chief guest of the ceremony, South Eastern University Chancellor Faisz Musthapha ( President’s Counsel ).
In his speech, Faiz Musthapha pointed out the importance of education and it can produce a useful citizen in the society. He requested to make arrangements for study room for students in the area . Also he urged the Association to consider the Zakath distribution programme to be streamlined in a meaningful manner.
The Zeenath Trading Company Private Limited Chairman A.H.M. Maheer also said stressed the importance of education and he suggested that the organizers make extra classes for the GCE Ordinary Level students. He also requested the association to concentrate on only on improving the education of the children for greater good of the bastion.. He further said education benefits for the future of their families.
JJ Foundation Director I.Y.M. Hanif, Colombo Times Chief Editor Mohammed Rasooldeen, Visiting Professor at the Southeastern University Dr. B,A.Hussainmiya, Association Joint Secretaries A.R.M. Muzammil, M.N.M. Naleem, Treasurer M.K. Jumat members also graced the event.
