COLOMBO- The Sri Lanka Masjids Federation categorically denied social media announcement about the holding of Jumma prayers on Friday, April 15 at the Galle Face Green which is the protests site of the youths who are successfully carrying on before the Presidential Secretariat in Fort, Colombo.
It a letter signed by Aslam Othman, president of the Federation, said that it was reported that the All-Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama has given permission for such a congregational prayer. Othman said that there is no truth in such statements and no one has been authorized to conduct such prayers at the demonstration site in Colombo.
Muslims participants in the protests have been advised to visit the neighboring mosques in the Fort area.
