COLOMBO : The Friday Jumma sermon on the American,Israeli-Iran war at a mosque in Colombo on April 3 , has stirred the hornet’s nest .
The Imam had described all three -Americans, Israelis and. Iranians as enemies of Islam and had advised Muslims as to how they should deal with the current situations.
The Imam had also spelt out the alleged misdoings of the Shia’s against the Sunnis.
It is strange that this Imam has made unwarranted statements on this division within the Muslim community at a time when the people are focusing on and expressing fears over an outbreak of a world war.
These Jumma pulpits should not be used to advocate the cause of a section of the people or countries with vested interests .
Allama Iqbal once said “ You call yourselves Shias and Sunnis ! Tell me which of You is a Muslim.”
