COLOMBO : Seasoned diplomat, who was the former Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ibrahim Sahib Ansar is tipped to be the Director of the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs which comes under the purview of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Ansar who counts decades of experience in the foreign services had served as the island’s ambassador in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Malayia.
Ansar, a lawyer by profession, hails from Mannar and an old boy of Errukalampiddy Central College.
He succeeds the former director M.B.M Ashraff who was transferred from office three months ago
