According to Deputy Foreign Minister Arun Hemachandra , Sri Lanka’s embassy in Tel Aviv has formally requested consular access to confirm Mehboobdeen’s condition, ensure her safety, and verify the legal and procedural aspects of her detention.
Hemachandra made this statement in parliament on Tuesday, May 19 .
