
COLOMBO ; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, Hon. Vijitha Herath, met with the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Sri Lanka, Mr. Marc-André Franche, this Monday morning September 7 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism.
The bilateral discussion focused on key matters relevant to the upcoming 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and Sri Lanka’s priorities for the session.
During the meeting, reference was made to Sri Lanka’s over 70-year partnership with the UN; UN80 process, UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF), and Sri Lanka’s Third Voluntary National Review on SDGs.
Minister Herath reaffirmed that Sri Lanka remains firmly committed to continuing its valued engagement with the United Nations system and reinforcing its dedication to multilateralism.
