


COLOMBO : Flydubai celebrated its 15th anniversary of successful operations in Sri Lanka at a special welcoming ceremony for the airline held at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) on June 23, 2025.
To commemorate this significant milestone, flight FZ1025 from Dubai received a warm welcome upon its arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), marked by a ceremonial water cannon salute. The passengers and crew were greeted with a vibrant Kandyan dance performance organized by Sri Lanka Tourism. A cake-cutting ceremony was also held to commemorate the airline’s long-standing partnership and continued commitment to the Sri Lankan aviation sector.
Flydubai commenced its operations to Colombo in 2010, playing a key role in strengthening air connectivity between Sri Lanka and Dubai, while offering convenient connections to an extensive global network via Dubai. Over the years, Flydubai has experienced significant growth in Sri Lanka and has established a steadily expanding customer base by offering affordable and comfortable flying experiences.
Currently, Flydubai operates 28 flights per week, with four flights per day between Colombo and Dubai, strengthening Sri Lanka’s air connectivity to the world. Hayleys Aviation serves as Flydubai’s General Sales Agent in Sri Lanka.
The celebration was attended by senior officials from Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL), the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL), Sri Lanka Tourism, and Hayleys Aviation.
