COLOMBO : Saudi Ambassador Khalid Hamoud Al-Kahtani attended the farewell ceremony for the first group of pilgrims from Sri Lanka, which consisted of 63 pilgrims, at Bandaranaike International Airport on Sunday morning June 4, the Director of the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Z.A.M. Faisal, the head of the Hajj Committee of Sri Lanka, Ibrahim Sahib Ansar, officials of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and a number of representatives of the Hajj Agencies in Sri Lanka, where the envoy delivered a short speech in which he expressed the Kingdom’s welcome to the guests of Rahman from all parts of the world, explaining that the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques attaches great importance to the pilgrims of the House of the Almighty Allah and all measures have been taken to ensure the comfort of the pilgrims in order to perform Hajj rituals with great ease. His Excellency also praised the level of coordination and cooperation between the Embassy, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and officials of the Sri Lankan Hajj Committee regarding Hajj arrangements for Sri Lankan Hajj pilgrims.
