COLOMBO –The Board of Trustees of Kollupitiya Jumma Mosque had organized a farewell ceremony to the Officer in Charge of the Kollupitiya Police Station Sumith Gunaratne who was promoted to the Assistant Superintend of Police. It was held at the Jumma Mosque premises on Friday, November 5.
Sumith Gunaratne said Sinhala Tamil, Muslim and Christian communities living with peace and harmony in this country and like a family. He praised the Kollupitiya Jumma Mosque Management for distributing thousands of dry ration packets for all the communities in Kollupitiya area during the corona pandemic. Also he thanked the Mosque Management.
Vice President of the Mosque Muslim Salahudeen presented the Holy Quran in Sinhala Translation to the OIC Sumith Gunaratne. Imams of the Mosque Ash Sheikh M.I. Saeed Jemshid, Ash Sheikh Hafiz M.B.M. Rizwan , Ash Sheikh M.I. Salman and Members of the Board of Trustees were also present.
