COLOMBO –The Talent Hub’s Annual Graduation Ceremony was held at the BMICH on 27th February. It was held under the patronage of Talent Hub Academy Directress Mrs. Fazliya Rameez.
The Chief Guest was Member of Parliament Mujeebur Rahuman while the guests of honour were Colombo Times Chief Editor Mohammed Rasooldeen and Iran Cultural Centre, Counsellor Dr. B. Moazami Goodarzi who presented awards and certificates to the successful students who completed the various courses at the Academy.
Last week, the Academy conducted held an exhibition at the Ramada Hotel, under the patronage of Justice Minister Ali Sabry, where the works of the various contestants were displayed for evaluation.
Talent Hub Academy is a registered institute under the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) and City and Guilds. It aim to bring out the talents of young girls and women by conducting vocational training programmes, such as Cookery, Bakery, Cake Decoration, sewing, Mehendi and Dress Making.
Many young women who leave school early find it difficult to find a livelihood in their life.”Such a course will help the young generation to help themselves for self-help projects, Directress Rameez said.
Parliamentarian Rahman said that women empowerment program is the need of the hour and this service will the nation build the nation in a way that ameliorates the social conditions of the lower-middle class women.
Rasooldeen congratulated the architect of this project.Fazliya Rameez who trained more than 10,000 women from the time of its inception.” Its an amazing achievement that should be commended by the nation.” he said, pointing out that more than 200 people passed out successfully from various projects at diploma and graduate levels and the convocation took place at the BMICH Lotus Hall on Sunday,Feb 28.(Pix by ASM JAVID and Ruzaik Farook)
