COLOMBO ; In a remarkable initiative aimed at empowering the next generation, MUGP International, a well reputed non for profit organization in collaboration with V&D Tech, an initiative founded by two youths, donated 25 laptops free of charge to students who have excelled in their studies and are preparing to pursue higher education. The event was held on Thursday July 3 at Kesbewa Rest, and the laptops were presented with the heartfelt compliments of Visitha Premaratne and Disath Premaratne who are 16 years and 14 years respectively using the funds generated by themselves.
This generous gesture is not just a one-time donation—it’s part of a broader educational empowerment program. In addition to providing laptops, MUGP International & V&D Tech will also conduct free online Zoom classes for a period of two years. These classes will focus on developing students’ IT skills, improving their English proficiency, and nurturing future leaders.
Importantly, the initiative ensured that students from all communities were given equal opportunity to benefit, reflecting the organization’s commitment to inclusivity and social equity.
Speaking at the event, Madhawa Noroshan Executive Director & Maffaz Mashoor Director Evaluation. from MUGP International stated, “In a time when the youth often spend resources on entertainment, it is inspiring to see individuals like Visitha Premaratne and Disath Premaratne invest in their hard earned money in others’ education and wellbeing. We believe this project will help transform these talented students into capable, confident, and tech-savvy future leaders.”
This initiative marks yet another milestone in MUGP International’s ongoing mission to uplift society through education and skill development. With continued support and collaboration, the organization hopes to expand its reach and help many more deserving students achieve their dreams.
