COLOMBO : The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia hosted a reception on Thursday 18th December, to mark the World Arabic Language Day at the Embassy premises in Colombo
The reception was geld Under the patronage of Yasser Alhazme, Charge de affaires of the mission in Colombo. Alhazme delivered the welcome address and spoke on the significance of the World Arabic Language Day. The Assistant Director of the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs (MRCA) i M.S. Ala Ahmed outlined the contributions made by Arabic language to the development of the society.
A separate desk was on display by calligraphers to enable the visitors to see the importance of Arabic calligraphy in the modern world.
Attendees included Government Officials, Academics, Media professionals, and prominent Islamic Leaders.
