COLOMBO : As the director of the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs, I am very happy to convey a message of greetings to all the Sri Lankan Muslims who are celebrating Eidul Fitr after completing the fast of the month of Ramadan.
Fasting, which is one of the five major duties of Islam, is the greatest grace given to Muslims by God. Through this duty, a Muslim gains closeness to Allah, the savior of the world, while also gaining lessons for his life. At the end of Lent, Ethulpidar embarks on a journey towards changes in his personal life as a reflection of this.
I am praying for blessings and grace for our country and people on this auspicious day to celebrate Eidul Fitr with family and community and share happiness with other fraternal communities. I pray to Almighty Allah to accept all our prayers and give full salary and I wish Eid-ul-Fitr.
